RFA 2023 Annual Meeting

The Responsible Flushing Alliance provides updates on its 2022 campaign and a look at 2023’s #FlushSmart campaign. We also hear from industry, wastewater, and environmental experts.

How #FlushSmart are you?

We asked some Californians what they knew about what should or should not be flushed to see how #FlushSmart they are — check it out to see how you score!

Dogs Against Clogs

Dogs Against Clogs storybook teaches children how to not feed the Clog Monster by looking for the “Do Not Flush” symbol for products, especially wipes, that don’t belong in the toilet.

We are the Responsible Flushing Alliance

Wipes help us keep our homes and families clean and healthy. It’s important to dispose of them properly so always look for the “Do Not Flush” symbol on wipes packaging and if you see it, dispose of them in the trash.

“You Can’t Live a Day Without Me” is a rap video about the San Francisco sewers with cameos by ex-49ers great Ronnie Lott and former San Francisco Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr.

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, the City agency that brought national attention to your sewers using slogans like “No one deals with more crap than I do” and “Your #2 is my #1,” is now debuting a rap song!

The City’s sewers work 24/7, 365 days a year; the Sewer System Improvement Program (SSIP) is a multi-billion dollar citywide investment underway to ensure it’s safe now and continues to protect public health and the environment for generations to come. Check out the lyrics at www.sfwater.org/sewerRap.
